What to Tell the Doctor
- Let the doctor know if the person you care for gets no relief of symptoms or of constipation after receiving the suppository.
- If the person is not known to have a hemorrhoid and you notice rectal bleeding after inserting a suppository, let the doctor know.
- Let the doctor know if the person becomes dizzy, pale, or sweaty after giving a suppository.
- If the person became dizzy and you took the person’s pulse, tell the doctor what the pulse rate was. See our lesson on Taking a Pulse.
