Safety Tips

Determine if the Blood Pressure Device Functions Correctly

  • Have the person’s doctor check the blood pressure device for accuracy.
  • Recheck the device every year (Some Medical Equipment Companies will do this for you).
  • Store the device in a cool place with the tubing free and not twisted.
  • Check the tubing once a month for any leaks and cracks.
  • Clean the ear pieces of the stethoscope with alcohol after every use to prevent dirt/wax build up that will make it difficult to hear the heartbeat.
