What to Tell the Doctor

Doctor
  • Whenever there is a change in a person’s behavior, such as new wandering or greater agitation, tell the doctor.
  • Share any patterns you have noticed, especially things like more restlessness , being irritable, or wandering that begins after a new medicine was started.
  • If the wandering pattern is unusual for your loved one and physical and emotional comforting have not helped, this may be a sign of illness or infection. Let the doctor know.
  • Report to the doctor any signs of pain; such as walking more slowly, holding a body part, or expressions such as grimacing, clenched teeth, moaning.
  • Tell the doctor if your loved one who wanders becomes very upset often and cannot be calmed or reassured.
